Japanese climbers dominated the dramatic men's semifinal

The final six in the men's competition was decided in the early afternoon on Letná, with the outcome determined in the last seconds of the semifinal. The most successful were two Japanese climbers, Sorato Anraku and Tomoa Narasaki. Other favorites also made it to the star-studded battle for the medals.

Anraku and Narasaki were the only two out of the twenty semifinalists to solve all four boulders. Even the Olympic champion from Paris, Toby Roberts, didn’t manage that this time, but the Brit still advanced to the evening stage in fourth place. Last year’s Prague meeting winner, Dohyun Lee from Korea, will also compete in the final, and Czech fans were thrilled by the qualification of Adam Ondra, who secured his place among the elite at the last moment.

The men's final starts at 18:30.
